What kind of account do I need?
All our digital dial-up lines use Multitech v.90/K56Flex modems, providing up to 56k of bandwidth if you are using a v.90 or Flex compatible modem. This bandwidth is more than sufficient for most users. You can expect data transfer rates between 3.5 and 6K/sec download speed vs. 1-1.5K/sec when using v.32bis (14.4) modems.Static/Fixed IP addresses are available on our dialup accounts for a small additional charge. This is sometimes required if you need to have the same IP address every time that you connect to the net, but do not require a dedicated connection.
56kb leased line connections offer excellent bandwidth for most small and medium sites. If you are a company with up to 75 networked PC's and you require a dedicated connection, this should be your primary choice. Contact us for special services such as firewalls or other security/performance information.
Frame Relay - This can be a good choice if you are a small or medium site and want variable bandwidth up to 56kb or T1. See our Frame Relay services page for a more detailed discussion of Frame Relay.
